    About

Dr. Ryan Schirmer is a native Oregonian growing up on a peppermint farm just south of Salem. He graduated from Cascade High School in Turner. After high school Dr. Schirmer went to Oregon State University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Midway through his college education Dr. Schirmer enlisted in the United States Army as an indirect fire Infantryman. During this service Dr. Schirmer suffered a low back injury and was unable to stand straight up for months. It was during this time the Dr. Schirmer sought chiropractic treatment. This treatment greatly improved his condition. This injury and subsequent treatment lit a fire in Dr. Schirmer to become a chiropractor so that he too could help as many people as possible.

Dr. Schirmer is the first chiropractor I have seen and I am extremely pleased with my choice. He walked me through the entire appointment which was both comforting and educational. Not only did he treat the problems we addressed at the beginning of the appointment, but he was also extremely observant and suggested ways to improve my posture in order to prevent further problems. I am a student and I spend a lot of time hunched over a desk which causes me upper back and neck pain. Dr. Schirmer adjusted these areas which has eliminated the pain, and also prevented the headaches I used to get so frequently. He explained how the tension often causes these headaches and that simple posture changes and chiropractic adjustments can eliminate them entirely. I would strongly recommend Dr. Schirmer to anyone - whether facing chronic pain or minor annoyances - he has a vast knowledge of both preventive and diagnostic treatment approaches.

I rate The Spine Clinic at the 5-star rating due to more than just there care and them being personable and helping they have made it so I can move again in less than a month. Beginning of February I couldn't move or work by the end of the month I was back doing my full-time job as a warehouse lifting heavy bags and 120 lb bales of hay. They have given me my pain-free life back and they are extremely easy to work with when it comes to scheduling and money. Ryan Shirmer is the best chiropractor I wouldn't recommend any other person but him!

Dr. McGill and staff are giving me my mobility back. For years the rheumatologists have told me not to use chiropractic for my AS. Since I started going to him I now can turn my head more then the 20 degrees left or right and my back and neck pains are down to a 3 or 4 from a 6 or 7. He uses a combination of massages and gentle manipulation to get the movement back. 5 stars are not enough.
