We Can Help Treat Your Sciatica at The Spine Clinic

At The Spine Clinic, we know that sciatica can cause extreme pain and discomfort. Our chiropractic services can help your body heal from the root cause of your sciatica pain. Since sciatica pain is not a condition itself, instead it is the result of another condition we will help you find relief by working backward, finding the cause and healing from there. Our chiropractic results speak for themselves. Do not hurt another day from a pain that can be treated with expert chiropractic care. We serve Salem and the surrounding areas.

Man suffering from sciaticaWhat Causes Sciatica?

While the causes of sciatica can vary these underlying conditions are often linked to sciatica pain; herniated disk in the spine, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, and other spine conditions. We can help determine the underlying cause of your sciatica pain with diagnostic tools, an oral history, and interview, and then we can go from there to make a personalized care plan to reduce your pain and improve your mobility.

What are Symptoms of Sciatica?

The symptoms of sciatica are telling. While the degree of pain varies from person to person, the symptoms are a great indicator of the cause of sciatica and the triggers.

Symptoms include; constant pain on one side of the leg all the way up to the buttock in many cases, pain that gets worse while sitting, burning and tingling leg pain, weakness and decreased mobility in the leg, sharp pain, radiated pain from leg to foot and toes. You may experience one or all of these symptoms when the sciatic nerve is affected.

Depending on the location of your pinched or injured nerve your pain may be extreme or simply annoying, you may find you cannot walk during flare-ups, or you may simply need to go a little slower. Be sure to describe the exact area the pain radiates from and tell the doctor all the specifics of your pain including anything that triggers a flare-up, the duration, exactly where it starts, and your level of mobility. Discovering where along the sciatic nerve the pain originates is vital.
